Frequently Asked Questions On Weddings

What kind of camera equipment do you use?
We use 3-chip high sensitivity digital video cameras, pro-digital video editing equipment, wireless microphones, and microphones for ambient sound. We don't carry bright lights that distract and block other's views. Our cameras are sensitive and can capture beautiful images even in low-light situations.

Do you interview guests?
Interviews add depth and help to tell a more complete story. We believe weddings are special because your family and friends are present to witness this commitment you have chosen to make and having their wishes, stories, and individual charm on video is often the most cherished aspect of a wedding story. We are comfortable interviewing your guests in a kind and unobtrusive manner but also realize not all guests desire to be on camera and we are very considerate of their wishes.

How long will it take to get my final video?
Your draft copy is ready to view within 4 weeks of your wedding. At that time you let us know if there are needed changes. Once we have your feedback the final copies will be delivered within 3 weeks.

What about song choices for the dvd?
You can give us songs to include in the editing phase (we suggest at least 3) and we will also mix in ambient and focal music from your wedding and ceremony. We prefer to receive your songs choices on cd before your wedding. .

How do you remain unobtrusive?
We've all been to weddings where it seems the photographer or the videographer is the center of attention. That's just not our style. During pre-ceremony, we shoot the preparations as they occur without being distracting. As the ceremony begins we move as gracefully as possible to capture the entrance of all parties. During the ceremony, our cameras are set in pre-selected locations and generally don't move until right before the wedding party exits. At the reception we mingle through your guests while also being sure to capture key moments - toasts, first dances, cutting of the cake, etc.

How will your camerapersons be dressed?
We've attended a range of weddings where the dress varies from formal to funky so we are flexible.

What will the finished dvd be like?
Your finished dvd will have a menu that will allow you to skip to different moments of your wedding. We edit the dvd to tell a story. We craft together the highlights, ceremonial moments, interviews, and the subtle feel of your day into an artistic style that will be a joy for you to watch and share for the years to come. In our experience, keeping your edited story between 30-45 minutes is a length that allows sufficient coverage of the day while also keeping it at a length you can reasonably watch with others who missed the day. Other coverage (full ceremony, rehersal dinner, etc) will appear as a separate chapter. If you want a short 5-10 minute recap of the day, you'll be interested in our highlights cut.

Do you have advise on photo montages?
Horizontal pictures work best for montages. We suggest you pick the order and write them on the back of your photo or list them in order on a digital file. Generally images are displayed for 5-6 seconds. Given that, 50 photos = 5 minutes (2 songs) 100 photos = 10 minutes (3-4 songs). Songs are of your choice and we recommend varying the tempo amongst the selections.

What kind of payments do you accept and when is payment due?
We accept cash, check and credit cards. To reserve a date we require a non-refundable deposit of $400. A week before your wedding date the remaining amount is due. New Mexico residents or weddings filmed in New Mexico will be subject to a sales tax of 6.625%.

REAL LIFE. CAPTURED.
